Borrowing money or selling things to bet
Hiding your betting from people close to you
Feeling anxious or irritable when you aren't betting
Betting getting in the way of work, school or family

Habits that help

Set a budget before you bet, and keep it separate from money for bills
Size bets as a small share of that budget, and don't raise them after a loss
Track every bet honestly. Our bet tracker is free
Take breaks, and don't bet when you're upset or drinking
Treat model picks as information, not promises. They lose often, and the record shows it

Tools at the sportsbooks

Licensed sportsbooks generally offer deposit limits, time limits, cool-off periods and self-exclusion in your account settings or through their support team. Many states also run self-exclusion programs. Check your state's gaming regulator for how it works where you live.
